Winners!
Had a fabulous day at Woodbine! Deidre Lazar of Burks Falls and Cathy O''Keefe of Oakville along with their spouses Joe and Christopher joined us for an afternoon at the Races. We had lunch with Glenn Crouter VP of media Relations and Sandy Hawley Hall of Fame Jockey. The food in the 5 Star Woodbine Club was superb thanks to top Chef Joseph. Thanks Woodbine!
As far as a review goes, the show was fantastic but it took a little while to get going. It starts a little awkwardly as the band was on stage for a long time looking uncomfortable before the show got started, and the narrator (Lonny) is pretty crude which the crowd didn’t go for at first: you don’t know how to take him at first, but later in the show everyone’s laughing at the same sort of jokes to which they only politely smiled at the start.
But the show really got going for me with “Waiting for a Girl Like You”, driving to the Hollywood hills and the awkward moment that follows. Stacey Jaxx really becomes a prominent figure around this time and the level of the show was taken up a notch. A couple of stand-out numbers for me were “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “The Final Countdown”, and “Every Rose Has its Thorn”. You know, I could go on: the cast was amazing! And Yvan Pedneault! WOW!!! Can that guy wail!!! And I’ve gotta give a lot of credit to the hardest working people on that stage: the three backup singers/waitresses: they did a ton of dancing in high heels and had at last count I think 1 million costume changes. ;-)My wife and I are thinking about going again we had such a good time! And dinner at Il Fornello was delicious! We started with smoked salmon (wonderful!) I had the veal limone (a lemon veal picatta), and my wife had linguine de mare (linguine with shrimps, bay scallops, and calamari). Both meals were excellent! We shared a cheesecake for dessert. We had a really really great time and I wanted to give you a HUGE THANKS!!!!!! Thank you so much—it was a fabulous prize that honestly we’ll think back on a million times and smile and giggle!!! Take care, keep up the fabulous work,

Our Salon Solis makeover winner is Luiza Whelan! http://www.salonsolis.com/ Her wonderful husband Terry sent this e-mail....
Hi Motts, so great hearing you guys back on the air. I would like to nominate my wife, Luiza for this package. I think she needs this makeover because she never takes the time to go out and pamper herself. I try to convince her to go but she always finds something else to do. We have a 22 month old boy that has the energy of 3 children I think. She needs a day to just enjoy herself without wondering if a diaper needs to be changed, an email from work needs to be responded to or any other distraction. She works very hard and I think that she would really appreciate something like this. Thanks for taking the time to read this Carol and Paul.
